FOREIGN LANGUAGES
Spanish
Known as the "Romance Language", Spanish is one of the most robust and beautiful languages in the world. Having roots in latin and founded in Europe, Spanish has gone through many unique transformations over time and continues to be a staple language, spoken in over 18 countries in the Latin Americas.
Indonesian
The Indonesian language, also known as "Malay" spans many regions and countries in Southeast Asia and the Pacific. It has many ties to languages like Filipino (Tagalog), Balinese, and even Maori! This language is very versatile as it has many different dialects and is spoken by over 200 million people worldwide and is ranked 6th or 7th in world languages.

Italian
Welcome to Italy! Scenic countrysides, rustic charm, and a country filled with history! Home of some of the best food (and pasta) in the world, Italy is a country filled with culture and centered around family. Their national language, Italian, stems from Latin and is often called the "language of love".
American Sign Langauge
ASL is an essential form of communication used by those in North American that are deaf and hard of hearing. ASL shares similarities in the linguistics of natural spoken languages like English, but definitely has many distinct differences in its usage and grammar.
Tagalog/Filipino
Filipino (as of 1987) is the national language of the people of the Philippines although there are those that call it Tagalog. Often confused for each other, tagalog and filipino are distinct languages with the latter being a mix of almost 8 different dialects of the Philippine language. Roots stemmed in latin, there are many similarities shared with the Spanish Language.
Japanese
Japanese is truly a unique language whose origins are unclear or unsure. Said to have ties to Korean, Japanese is a language that is unique to the people of Japan and a language derived and cultivated by its people. Originally a purely spoken language, it wasn't until the 5th century that scholars decided to create a written form closely tied to Chinese!
German
Germany is a European country wrapped in rich history and technological innovation. German is the primary language spoken in Germany ranks as 11th worldwide and is a widely accepted language in most European countries, even above Spanish! Much like Spanish, German has roots in Latin and Greek and even has an ancient form spoken in Early Europe!
French
French is the native language of France and is one of the many romance languages! With roots in Latin, much like many of the romance language of the world, it is the 6th most spoken language in the world and influenced the creation of roughly 29% of the English vocabulary! Strangely enough, prior to the French Revolution (1789) the people of France spoke mainly Germanic languages and dialects and adapted French shortly after. It is also one of the easier languages to learn due to its similarities to English. However, French can be quite daunting due to pronunciation and its frequent use of homophones; or words that sound the same but have quite different meanings!
